       … have you been frustrated at the lack of response of employers after an interview where you thought you did a great job but were kept waiting and waiting and waiting, sometimes months before hearing the bad news?

       … have you been told networking is the ‘answer’ but each time you go out, if you go out at all, you either feel like you are begging for a job or nobody seems to be the right person to help you and you only end up with a pocket full of business cards?

       … have you been doing all the ‘right’ things people have told you to do and none of it has worked as promised and now you wonder if it is worth the effort  AND you start to think maybe you have the wrong skill set, or you are too old, or there is a bigger secret about you nobody is telling you?

       … have you been playing by the HR rules of resume submission and contact hoping if you are good and obedient you will be rewarded with an interview or at the very least a letter telling you the position is closed but and instead you received NOTHING.

       … have you woke up motivated to look for work and two hours into your search you end up feeling hopeless because it looks like nothing fits your skills or the job descriptions require more than you have?

       … have you been turned down for a job and wanted to know is why to learn and improve, but they tell you nothing or WORSE they give you a bland statement which makes it seem they are hiding something?

       … have you been out networking and just before you open your mouth to say hello anxiety over comes you and you end up mumbling something other than what you planned, even after you told yourself you were not going to do that again?

       … have you been obsessing over your resume trying to find the best formatting and word phrases out of fear you will miss your one 20 second window of opportunity when it passes in front of the hiring persons eyes?

       … have you been blind sided by questions on an application or resume where you knew there was a better answer you could have given and all you could muster up was some bland response and afterwards you THEN when it was too late when you thought of the perfect answer.

Have you ever had one of these things happen to you?

       If you are like most people when working on your job search then you’ve been in one or more of these situations… probably MORE THAN ONCE.

       After talking to a lot of people the most painful and discouraging part is not having the feed back to know if IT IS YOU or something else.  There is no sense of control.  Where are the jobs being posted?  Who do I talk to?  Is it my training? Is it my communication?  Are they still hiring?

       I’ve put this workshop together for you to receive the feedback you need for you to take back the control of your job search and keep the control.

It is time to take control back into your hands

       In my hope to help job seekers like you I’ve spent years trying to learn the best ‘tricks’ from career experts and to pass them along.  Guess what, none of them worked consistently.  But I did notice something very interesting.  Either all the ‘tricks’ worked for an individual job seeker or none of them worked.

       I knew the key in helping all the ‘others’ take control of their job search was in becoming like those elite few for whom everything worked.  It turns out there is something uniquely different about them anybody can model but few know how.

       Instead of taking 5-10 paragraphs explaining how I made the “big discovery” and then why it is important to you, I’m just going to tell you. 

       The number one reason most job seekers fail is they do not know why they are good at what they do and then unable standout from the crowd.

       Many job hunters know what they are good at, but they don’t know why.   Their success has become so second nature to them they either forgot the work it took to get to their current point OR they are so naturally good at it they never knew for themselves.  They only know the outcome (what) they can produce, but they forgot or never knew the process (why).  I’m going to take a wild guess and say you are in the same boat.

Consider this:
       When you don’t why you are good at what you do you:

  • Can not confidently tell other why you can help them, and they choose somebody else.
  • Can not translate past work experience to new positions, and you limit your possibilities.
  • Do not know when to jump on an opportunity that fits you perfectly, because you don’t know if it fits you.
  • Can not create an out-standing personal brand, and are lumped into the rest of those who only know what they do.

       Before you can, learn to network, craft you resume, convincingly interview you need know why you are good at what you do.

       That is why this workshop is going to start with two very important assessments.  We are going to use the DiSC Personality assessment and StrengthFinder 2.0 as the foundation to build your resume, networking skills and personal brand.

Discover your unknown strengths which employers are demanding.

       With the DiSC Personality assessment you will discover how your personality shapes the way you work with others.  You will understand why you connect very easily with some people and it is difficult with others.  This will help you network with confidence and know what to say to be likeable to whom ever you meet.  I think you will enjoy knowing it will all be natural to who you are.  You do not have to pretend to be anything you are not.

       Have you ever noticed how two people can produce the same results but the way they did it was very different?  StrengthFinder 2.0 will highlight the unique way you accomplish your tasks.  You may for the first time discover a ‘name’ for what you have unknowing excelled in all your life.  With your list of ‘names’ you can clearly explain why you are the perfect candidate for a job.

These two assessments have produced fantasitc results for my own private clients. Some of them have been able to land a job with in a week of completing them. At the very least you will increate your confidence in your own personal value.

Build an Individualized Job Search Strategy

       Once we have honed in on who you are, you will be taken through a series of exercise to build an individualized Job Search Strategy. By the time you are done you will:

  • Know how to network correctly, and not look like the needy greedy helpless job seeker.
  • Build a resume that catches attention in under 20 seconds
  • Learn exceptional interviewing skills where you don’t have to remember the ‘right’ answers.
  • Develop a personal brand to stand out in the crowd and be remembered over others.
  • Find and connect with the all important decision maker

This workshop is not for everyone.

       50 people is the maximum I can handle and still ensure individual results for each person.  It will be intense, hands on and you will have home work in between the sessions.  If you want to come and be given the right answers for you to fill in the blank, this is not the right workshop for you.   You will be required to actively participate, and be willing to be vulnerable at times.

       However if you know you need to do something different than what you have been doing please come.

It’s free but it will cost us both something or it will be worthless.

       I’m not going to make a cent on this seminar.  In fact it will cost me money to put this on for you.  Right now I’m out in Oregon and I will fly back to St. Louis just for this seminar.  Then I will fly back to Oregon afterwards.  This is my way of saying thank you for the support I’ve received here.   

       I am personally and monetarily invested in seeing you succeed.  There is no sense coming out all the way out there to deliver a so so workshop.  Because it is costing me something substantial I’m going to be darn sure you will not walk away thinking or feeling it was a waste of your time.  You are going to get the best of me.  Period.

       I want this to cost you something too.  If it doesn’t, you will not receive the most from the workshop.  I’ve found the best way to ensure you get the best results is to be sure you are also personally invested.  When you are personally invested, you will come with the right attitude.  All I’m asking is for you to pay the cost of the assessments.
